Hello, friends. I’m Ricardo Almeida.

I am Brazilian, Portuguese, and a true wine enthusiast. Although I was born and live in Rio de Janeiro, my roots are deeply planted in Portugal. My parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents are all Portuguese, and I grew up immersed in a culture where wine wasn't just a beverage—it was a centerpiece of our tables and celebrations. I vividly remember Christmases where the traditional salted cod (bacalhau) was always paired with a fine Portuguese red, followed by dessert accompanied by a glass of Port.

Over time, my curiosity led me to look beyond the simple toast. I began wanting to truly understand what was in the glass: the grape varieties, the complexity of the blends, the technical influence of each terroir, and the many other elements that define a wine's character and quality.

My philosophy is simple: enjoying wine should be uncomplicated. However, I believe that knowledge is what transforms pleasure into a conscious experience. When we understand the "why" behind every bottle, we value the product more and make much more informed choices.

This website was born as a personal project to document this evolution. It is my space to stay connected to this passion, to keep learning, and, most importantly, to share and exchange experiences with those just starting out or those who are already fellow enthusiasts.
